Manfrotto Pixi Mini tripod

After a long search and decision process in the purchase of a folding tripod that I felt was going to be strong enough and versatile enough for some long term use as a vlogging handle with the ability to stand on a desk or table while I talked to a camera (my iPhone 5 camera), I finally settled on this one.

I just needed a handle and tripod for my vlogging channel due to a few minor factors starting with the basic ergonomics of holding my iPhone 5 while keeping clear of the lens and microphone without having to constantly think about it.

But into the bargain with this particular tripod you get quite a bit more in the way of it’s capabilities and strength. Very solid in build and construction and able to carry

**Maximum body weight of 650g/ 1.4lb

Maximum 85mm Focal length

Maximum total payload 1kg/ 2.2lb

So as you can see from these statistics it is able to carry a fair weight. For the serious photographer or anyone who intends to use it a fair bit, the price is pretty good right now from Amazon stores (Affiliate links below).  If you won’t use it much, maybe just for the odd Phone shot then maybe a cheaper option would suit better.

US Amazon http://amzn.to/RNuF3U

This tripod in some stores subject to availability can also be bought in other colours, for the more expressive of you out there. So hit the links above, at the time of this post going live the price is much lower than I paid.

The panoramic world of the Bubblescope.

I’ve been using the bubblescope on and off for a year now and I still struggle to make a regular uses of it, not that I don’t like it, it’s just, well it’s just so awkward to share the pictures or videos taken with it.

above you see what you get in the packaging with the case already fitted to my iPhone 5. A nice little package with an easy to use design and a little pouch to carry the business end of the device in.
The pictures produced are a little fuzzy in places and a little out of focus in other places making it lose credibility straight away.

The most annoying part I suppose is to share the photos you need to set up an account on bubblepix.com then add the unique code from your device packaging. Once you have an account you can then see other peoples bubbles and upload your own. Then to share them you share the link and affixed image that unless your recipients have the app they cannot rotate the picture on a handheld device so need to go to the website via a desktop or laptop machine.

So with all this in mind I haven’t actually uploaded many to the site. Here’s one of my better ones.

So with all this in mind the device itself is “ok” it’s the sharing side of things that make it a little cumbersome. Current pricing on Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com. In summary for me it belongs in the just for fun bracket.
